Brainerd, MN – June 29, 2016 – The battle continues as the Trans Am Series heads to Brainerd International Raceway for an action packed race, fighting for the championship in what will be Round 5 of the season. This is Burtin Racing’s first time competing at the track and it is a challenge they are more than willing to face. The GoShare Corvette C7.R is hoping for a great finish to capitalize on their already successful season so far. The Trans Am division will be racing on the 3.1 mile Donnybrooke circuit, opened in 1968. It consists of 13 turns and very little elevation change but is still challenging for experienced drivers.

“This weekend will be my first trip to Brainerd and I am looking forward to getting on track Friday,” said Claudio Burtin, owner and driver at Burtin Racing. “The team will have the GoShare Corvette ready as they have been working nonstop since our back-to-back races earlier this month in Detroit and New Jersey.”

Burtin Racing is currently fifth in the points and in striking distance of moving up through the standings. The whole team is confident in their positioning for the season and are all eager to continue with momentum heading into the second half of the championship schedule. It will be an important race weekend for the team to get up to speed quickly. Brainerd International Raceway features a tricky banked right-hand 60-degree turn that continues to be the fastest turn on any road course in the country.

This Saturday the Trans Am Series will air on the CBS Sports Network. Tune in on July 2 at 12 p.m. ET for the Motor City 100 broadcast from the Detroit Grand Prix.
