Mooresville, NC – October 30, 2015 – The Burtin Racing Corvette C7.R was first introduced at Daytona International Speedway last fall in the Trans Am series. The development of the race car since its debut has been challenging but hugely rewarding for those associated with this leading edge, high performance racing team.
At that debut event in Daytona, driver Claudio Burtin made a strong appearance with an impressive fourth place finish and set a competitive tone for the season to come.
In 2015, the team has been preparing the Corvette C7.R with different car setups and strategies for the various Trans-Am Series race track venues. The numerous factors to consider when fine-tuning the C7.R for these race events include, but are not limited to, surface conditions and elevation, course length, corner ratios, prevailing weather conditions and much more as the SCCA sanctioned Trans Am Series visits the most iconic and challenging purpose built road courses in America.
All the while, the primary mission for Burtin Racing has been to collect and analyze the data on the race car throughout the 2015 season in order to improve the performance of the Corvette C7.R.
Last week Burtin Racing headed to Mooresville, NC for a stop at the A2 Wind Tunnel which included a day of aerodynamic testing. This is the first time the Burtin Racing Corvette C7.R has been tuned in the wind tunnel, and it has yielded great insight on how the various different racing configurations are performing.
“The team has been focusing on improving the performance on the car all year and we decided it was time to get in and test in the wind tunnel to further our developments,” said Claudio Burtin, team driver and principal. “This was my first time working in the wind tunnel and it was a great experience. We learned a huge amount about the Derhaag C7 bodywork and have applied that knowledge.”
The next event for Burtin Racing is the Bullet Liner Championship Weekend set for Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, November 14. This will be the finale race event for the 2015 Trans Am Series. More details on the event weekend include schedule and ticket information can be found at http://gotransam.com/events/.
