Lexington, OH – August 10, 2016 – The Trans Am Series Championship heats up again this weekend as Round 6 is staged for a highly competitive event at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course. The First Energy Trans Am weekend will feature a 100-mile race where the GoShare Corvette C7.R of Burtin Racing will be looking for a solid finish to rebound back into the top five of the season points standings.
The race is scheduled for Saturday, August 13 at 9:30 a.m. EST and will commence 75-minutes of heart pumping action for a total duration of 101.96 miles or 45 laps. Trans Am will be paired with the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Mid-Ohio for one of the more highly anticipated race events of the season.
“We are halfway through the season and are currently sitting seventh in the points – it’s time to make an extra effort at going for this championship,” stated Claudio Burtin, team owner and driver. “My crew hasn’t stopped for a minute from trying to improve this GoShare Corvette. Trans Am has always been about innovation, engineering and pushing all components to their maximum ability. Unlike spec racing, these cars are always coming up with something new. After all it is a motor car race!”
